KENNEDY'S
327 W 57th St.
(Between 8th & 9th Ave.)
New York, NY 10010
(212) 759-4242

There are hundreds, if not thousands of Irish Pubs in New York City, but this is the one to come to when in the City. You'll feel right at home with the smiles, the service and great pub food, such as Fish & Chips and Bangers & Mash. Have a pint of Guiness or Harps, or have Dennis make you a cold cocktail, sit back and watch the city go by. Delightful!

Le BAR BAT
311 W 57th St
(Between 8th & 9th Ave.)
New York, NY 10019
(212)307-7228

Le Bar Bat used to be many things, among them a church and a recording studio. The place has so many rooms and knick-knacks, you could spend hours just looking around. However, if you want dinner, Le Bar Bat is open every day but Sunday. From Tuesday through Saturday at 10:30 PM live bands perform. The dance club, Pandora's Box, opens nightly at 9:00 PM and closes at 4:00 AM with DJs spinning all the latest music. The main level on the ground floor has a bar area, "The Bat Bar" and dinner table seating. The second floor contains a balcony overlooking the main dining room and the stage, and a smaller more intimate bar called "The Belfry Bar" and a handful of semi-private nooks. Also located on the upper level is Le Bar Bat's lounge, "The Borneo Room", complete with its own bar. This is a great place to have a party, or just to come and hang. Make sure that you share a "Batbite" with your friends!

IL CORTILE
125 Mulberry St
(Between Canal & Hester Streets)
New York, NY 10013

I consider this restaurant the best Italian in New York City. Possibly in the world. You are a stranger only once. After that, welcome home. Fantastic food, tremendous wine list, and the ambience of old Italy. "As good as little Italy gets... excellent Northern Italian Cuisine in a beautiful skylit dining room..."

WO Hop
17 Mott St
New York, NY 10013
(212) 267-2536

This is the best chinese restaurant in the world. And you'll be suprised how many other New Yorkers know about it-and visit frequently. Make sure you go downstairs, though. There is always a line to get in, but this place is well worth the wait. The decor leaves a lot to be desired, but the food is unbelievable! Try the hot and sour soup, and you will never look at hot and sour soup the same again!

ONE IF BY LAND, TWO IF BY SEA
17 Barrow Street
(bet. 7th Ave. S. & W. 4th St.)
New York, NY 10014
(212) 228-0822

Continental cuisine served in a beautifully restored 18th-century landmark carriage house and stable formerly owned by Aaron Burr. Cozy, ambiance and Greenwich Village charm-complete with four fireplaces, a verdant view from the garden room, candlelight and fresh flowers at every table- it offers the most romantic setting in New York for dinner. A pianist plays love songs and classical favorites. And- Jacket Required!

PETER LUGER STEAK HOUSE
178 Broadway
(Between Ford and Driggs Avenue)
Brooklyn, NY 11211
718-387-7400

This institution’s legions of fans attest that there is no better meat to be found anywhere in the world. The dry-aged steaks are slabs to salivate over, and are always broiled to juicy perfection. A limousine and Long Island crowd inhabit the turn-of-the-century dining rooms that are done in German beer hall fashion: stamped tin ceiling and white plaster walls with dark trim. Nothing’s been updated -- but why should it be? It works. Everything is a la carte, which makes it pricey, but at lunch you can squeak by for less on the daily specials. Expensive, but you already knew that, didn't you?
