LAKE MING

Dedicated in 1959 to Kern County Supervisor Floyd Ming, this beautiful manmade lake lies 10 miles northeast of Bakersfield, off the Alfred Harrell Highway on the Lake Ming Road exit. Hills surround the lake, and the Greenhorn Mts. stretch along the eastern horizon. From a hilltop picnic ground overlooking the lake, the view is soul-stirring. .
