- ICHIBAN SUSHI
109 2nd Avenue North
Conveniently located downtown, this place has fresh fish, well prepared and tasty! The service is excellent, and the menu is extensive, especially all the different types of rolls. A bit dark, with minimal decorations, but who cares when the food is this good! Excellent! Also, this is the only place that you'll find "Sushi Pizza"-Try it!
- JACK'S BARBECUE
Some of the best barbecue in Nashville and you don't even have to leave downtown. Have a pulled-pork sandwich- you'll never have better! And don't forget the cornbread!
- STOCK-YARD RESTAURANT
901 Second Ave. North
Located in an old meat-packing plant, the Stock-Yard has been a Nashville insititution for more than eighty years. Fairly expensive, but the steaks are good!
- OLD HEIDELBERG
423 Union Street
German oom-pah music fills the air and scenes of Bavaria fill the walls at this downtown Nashville establishment. Servers wear authentic German outfits, adding to the Teutonic atmosphere. Old Heidelberg may not be as famous as Nashville's other German restaurant, the Gerst Haus, but the food tastes just as good. Enjoy schnitzels, sauerbraten, and beets on the side--with the heady smell of sauerkraut to tempt you to have a beer to wash it all down with. Old Heidelberg has fresh food and moderate prices.
- ROYAL THAI
204 Commerce Street
Finally, good Thai cusine in Nashville. Try the Tom ka kai soup and the traditional Pad thai noodles, and you will be satisfied. Ask the chef to make it as spicy as you like, but beware! You will find that the price is right as well!
